This program teaches advanced information technology that can help you advance your career, or pursue consulting or teaching opportunities. Develop solid research and scholarly writing abilities. The program is completed by writing a dissertation that advances the global IT academic library.

Outcome goals and graduates' proficiency levels

Each doctoral program and specialization is designed around expected learning outcomes (see Expected Program Outcomes below). End of program performance is determined during the comprehensive exam and dissertation process. Because the work is unique to each learner's dissertation or research topic and the criteria for evaluation are aligned to that work, we do not collect data on proficiency levels for doctoral programs.

  • The Project Management (PMI®) Global Accreditation Center for Project Management (GAC) has accredited the Project Management specializations in the following degree programs: BS-IT, BS-Business, MBA, MS-ISTM, and PhD IT. Enrollment and graduation data are available.
  • Capella University has been designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance/Cybersecurity (CAE IA/CD) for academic years 2014-2021.
