This program prepares registered nurses to assume roles as nurse educators, nursing faculty, or clinical nurse mentors/preceptors. Advance your knowledge of nursing concepts, theories, research, and practices. The program also includes focused exploration of health care policy and regulations; health care information systems and technology; management and leadership in professional nursing practice; and ethical and legal standards.

Quality and Professional Relevance

  • The Gerontology specialization is modeled on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Master's Nursing Essentials and the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Competencies.
  • The Diabetes Nursing and the Nursing Leadership and Administration specializations incorporate the Essentials of Master's Education for Advanced Practice Nursing established by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
  • The Nurse Educator Bridge curriculum incorporates the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice established by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).
  • Students will learn from faculty experts that bring both academic and professional experience into the courseroom from nursing and across the public service segments.
